why did the random fish slaps stop working when I upgraded?
« on: April 25, 2005, 04:22:52 PM »
I had been using version 5 something for a very long time and when I updated last week to the newest version of 5 the random fish slap stopped working telling me that the fish.txt file was not there.

I am not sure how to fix this.  I would like to upgrade to version 7.0 because the interface is much better but without the ability to slap someone by clicking on user name and instead having to type
/me slaps (some user) with a rainbow trout. takes all the fun out of it because I only have one hand to type with so it comes out way to slow.

Please tell me how to fix version 5 or please add it back into 7.0

You must have lost the setting some how.
The Slaps were not embedded into IceChat its simply a part of the menu. The menus are totally configurable, they are not hard coded.
Also make sure fish.txt still exists in your IceChat5 folder.

You edit the nick list popupmenu to add the slaps in.
Just add this to the end of the menu, in the Popup menu editor.

Code: [Select]

Slaps
.Random Slap:me slaps $nick $randphrase(fish.txt)

As for version 7, its still in Alpha, FAR from complete, no default menus of any sort have been added, this is to be used for testing.
