preventing message containing badwords from showing in room

If

a chatter uses badwords in a message, is there any way that substitution letters will be displayed in the room?  The bot will

kick the user, but there is the line for all to see.  The room is general audience.

Thanks

You would have to play around with the ONRAW Script event.

There is an example of it Scripts Download section. It would take a lot of tinkering though, to make it filter out words for

the text event.

And, of course, this only works for Your Client/IceChat, not for everyone in the channel. They would

all need the same script as you have to make it work for each person. Otherwise, to filter channel content, you would need

some kind of a channel mode or such, I would contact the #help channel on the Network you are on. I have no clue if that is

even possible, so they are the people to talk to about this.

The IRC network I use has mode +G (which stands for G-rating)

which replaces most swear words with the string "!@&$%". So it couldn't hurt to ask.
