It is with great regret, that IceChat 8 development has ceased. We were hoping for it to be an open source project, that would get help from other people. The main problem was, we lack the time to write a entirely new client, and no volunteers stepped forward to help.

So, this brings us to IceChat 9. IceChat 9 will be based on IceChat 7, with an improved User Interface, and other updates and fixes. It is currently being Beta tested, and shows a great deal of progress. The main change is, it will now be a Tabbed User Interface. IceChat 9 will be closed source, as was IceChat 7.

Thank you again, and you all will look forward to IceChat 9.
