dcc problem
« on: February 02, 2007, 12:48:42 PM »
Hello

I have a problem with downloading videos
the file is always a bit too big as the original on the bots
and video don't work normally

I used IceChat 5.5 or something like that before
just switched to the new version a few days ago
And there it worked without any problems

So I thought I report it

could it be a false option or something

thanks for your answer

No,
the old version 5.5 worked fine
I have the problem with the new version 7.1

The files are around 175MB and 235MB

Wel, I guess the older version is better to use for DCC files such size.
I would not recommend using IceChat for DCC's files of that size anyways, the DCC in IceChat 7 is not 100% reliable.

Is this a straight transfer, or is the file being resumed?
The only test I can really do is send 200mb files to myself, and see if they come through ok.

Well, one little thing is, how are you sure the files are any good in the 1st place?
Have you tried transfering the same files with a different client, or different version of IceChat?
And I mean the exact same files.

Ok, I will check it out, and do some further testing, and compare some code.

Ok, I did find some bugs and problems with these large files.
I did some testing, sending to myself tho, but where it previously failed, it works much better now.

But since IceChat 7.12 is still in progress, I am still working on it, you will need to come to the #icechat support channel  and ask me for a link to the file, because there are some other "issues" that I need to tell about.

Thanks
