Empty Lines
« on: January 22, 2007, 11:13:03 PM »
I'm not sure if its been brought up or not, but during a chat a couple people had blank lines.  I thought nothing of it, figured it was meant that way.  Didn't seem like I missed it, until I had mIRC running and seen that screen.  I've got a bot I'm creating on one machine and I seen there was text, just text, on that line, but it was blank on the IceChat screen. Just one line here and there from multiple users.  I had copied the text from the logs and compared it, to see why and could find nothing.  Don't have much more info, hoping it will reproduce itself but I thought I'd throw it out here.

The best thing is, if it is common, just open the debug window, everything is automatically then output to the debug.txt file in the logs folder, and then you may be able to see the culprit.

Well, that doesnt do me much good, unless ya paste the lines here.
Otherwise, I would have to guess as what the problem is, and I am not too good at that :)
And any other details, would be nice as well.

Thanks

I know I have had it happen more than these 3 times, but I can't find the file I thought I saved.  I thought I was keeping the logs from both mIRC and IceChat, but I guess not.  I had to scroll through the logs for both to compare lines to find these.  I do have more if it will help, but it is time consuming to scroll through.  Here are 3 times, keep in mind mIRC is running on another machine on my network and there was no fancy text, just chat with the exception of MKA who copied and pasted a website.

Icechat:

mIRC:

Well, I will see what I can do with that, but I may need the logs from the Debug window as well.

Ok, I found the problem. It just seemed to have some problems with some punctuation.  Its the Unicode I was trying to implement into the newer version, and it obviously had a small bug with it, which erased the message.
All fixed now. Will be available in 7.11.
If you want an intermediate build, try and look me up in the #icechat channel.

Thanks
