Basic Script, Ice Chat 5 Style
« on: September 09, 2006, 08:43:52 PM »
I need help creating the most basic script using ice chat 5 style in ice chat 7. I've looked through the help files, and I can't seem to find anything that will actually make my script respond. Here's my script:
Code: [Select]
Sub ONTEXT(Message,Channel,Nickname,Host,ServerNumber)
if Message = "text" then
SendCommand "/say hi", ServerNumber
end if
End Sub
I'm using the .ice extension, but i still don't get a response (and someone else tries to fire it, but it doesn't work!).

Of course, if I use the Ice chat 7 style, the same script works perfectly fine, but i want the 5 style because it's a bit more functional.

Well, there is one problem with the "/say hi" command.
You have to be in that current channel, on that current server, for it to message back like that.

A better thing to do, would be to "/msg " & Channel & " hi", sending a message back to that channel.

And the message that someone else writes does need to be exactly "text" , in the case you wrote.
