Crashing Icechat 7
« on: August 08, 2006, 07:01:16 AM »
Well i have a problem and my friend got the same problem the latest update of Icechat now makes the program automatic close and it is when we do nothing.
And i have the same problem that it closes when the 3. server is joined.

My friend have some other small problems.
When he joins some channels it seems like trying to make a whiois on all in the channel.
And there are no error messages conserning any of the problems in the error.txt.

Hope you can help.

Crashing problem with IceChat is most likely a bad OCX you have on your system, and my guess is, it is the mswinsck.ocx file, which so many people seem to have the same problem with.
Under the Help menu-> Debug items, click Check Dll Versions, and see if your version of mswinsck.ocx matches.
If it does not, there is your problem, especially if it is a newer version on your system.

As for the "whois" on the entire channel on joining, its actually "who" , and that is how icechat gets all the hostnames for the nicklist.

Well, some of those don't match up.
I would backup those files somewhere, not delete them, and then do a re-install of version 7 again.
It should then place in the proper versions of those files.
