Registering Channel With Freenode
« on: June 20, 2005, 02:41:47 PM »
I registered a channel with irc.freenode.  Now I was to set access and levels so that it automatically ops me and one other person when we join the room.  I also want to change the channel password.  But I cant find the commands to do these things.  The freenode website is no help, it hardly makes any sense at all.  If anyone knows the commands, please let me know.

I am sure that freenode has some kind of a help channel, like #help or such.

To change a channel password, I am assuming you are meaning a channel key?  If so, this is mode +k. Double clicking on an empty part in the channel window will bring up a channel info window, just change the channel key there.

As for automatically opping people, IceChat has no such commands. You will need to script this.

Now, on another note, since you were not clear on anything above, if you mean using some kind of a channel service like chanserv, you will need to use "/msg chanserv help" to get any information like that. Chanserv is not any part of IceChat, it is a channel service on an irc server.
