Logging problems
« on: December 18, 2004, 10:44:08 AM »
Hi again. :)

I recently went into my

logs folder to check on something and noticed that entire days were just missing from the folder (for example, I'm missing

the entire month of September. XD).

I checked errors.txt and noticed that the following errors coincided with each of

the days that I did not have logs.

Quote from: errors.txt
12/17/2004 7:42:37 PM:Module: frmMain Function:

txtInput_KeyDown:1390:0:0 Error Number:5 : Invalid procedure call or argument
12/17/2004 7:42:37 PM:Module: frmMain

Function: txtInput_KeyDown:1390:0:0 Error Number:5 : Invalid procedure call or argument
12/17/2004 7:42:37 PM:Module:

frmMain Function: txtInput_KeyDown:1390:0:0 Error Number:5 : Invalid procedure call or argument
12/18/2004 1:11:00

AM:Module: frmMain Function: txtInput_KeyDown:1390:0:0 Error Number:5 : Invalid procedure call or argument
12/18/2004

1:11:00 AM:Module: frmMain Function: txtInput_KeyDown:1390:0:0 Error Number:5 : Invalid procedure call or

argument

Those are a few of the most recent examples. I'd appreciate any input you have on the

situation. :)

(my errors.txt file is almost 1MB thanks in part to my logging problems >_>)

As my email stated, those errors have nothing to do with Log

Files missing. Will have a look over it, and perhaps 5.50 will be better behaved for yourself.

I may have fixed the problem (although it still baffles

me).

I opened up my settings, hit the Logging tab, and the Enable Logging box was checked. I unchecked it, saved, then

re-checked it and saved. Logging seems to work now.

A long time ago, I wrote an alias "/logs" to open my

favorite IRC network's log folder. This is different from the built-in IceChat alias "/log", but just to be safe, I've now

changed it to "/ic" which just brings me to my IceChat root directory. This may or may not be part of the problem, but I

thought I'd point it out just in case.

Thanks again, Snerf.

Oof. I hate to dredge up an old thread but the problem keeps

occuring.

I can fix it by going into the Logging options, unchecking the boxes, saving, then re-checking them and

saving -- but often I don't notice the glitch until it's too late, and it's annoying to have these huge gaps in my log

database. Is there anything I can do?

Wanna send me your log settings, and your errors.txt file.

You can clip of most of the log file, just send me the last day or so, whenever the problems occur, and I'll see what I can

do.[/b]
