Quit Messages
« on: February 22, 2004, 09:39:42 AM »
Hi,

I was wondering if there was any sort

of special trick to get Quit messages to display? Right now, when I quit the client simply gives the message (Remote close

the connection). I have my quit message set in both the server editor and the defualt server settings.  Is there some sort of

limit on how long it can be? Or am I not turning something on or something?

Thanks for your help.

How are you closing your connections?
Are

you just closing IceChat, or Disconnecting, or using the /quit message?

If you just close IceChat, while all your

connections are still open, it sends the quit message, and the drops the connection. So quit messages do not always get sent

through, it is best to close the open connections, and then close IceChat, if you are concerned with sending actual quit

messages.

How is this a bug?

You can not edit them.

You

can add more to the random quit messages, by making a file called "randquit.txt" and placing it in the IceChat5

folder.
This adds to the random quit messages that are already inside Icechat.

There is also $randphrase, which

will read a random line out of a file called "randphrase.txt"
