DCC Settings
« on: October 15, 2003, 01:11:39 PM »
A few questions have been asked about DCC

Options.

What kind of settings would people like to see added, that are not currently in IceChat 5 Beta 11.  Here are

some I have heard/come up with.

1.  Auto-Accept - Auto Resume/Overwrite/Ask/Cancel

2.  I have seen that some

clients allow you to specify different folders for different file types. Right now we have 1 folder for all files(except for

auto-accept and nicknames folders now).

3.  Allow user specified Time-outs for DCC Sessions (Currently its coded at

120 seconds)

4.  Add a DCC Ignore Section, not just for file types, but Nicknames as well, and add a Ignore All But,

or Ignore only, setting as well.

Any feedback would be appreciated. If we can get the feedback quickly enough, I will

get these added into the Full Release by the end of the month.

Thanks

   Yes, all those.

That would be neat and intresting but for me personally not

neccessary.

A DCC Ignore for File Type & Nicknames plus Ingnore ALL or be able to
specify specific File Types & Nicknames

to ignore AND those specific
entries not be deleted or removed if for a while the user does want to
   Ingnore All

or something to that effect. ;)

All of those options would be very nice to have. If you do

implement number two however, I would really prefer it as an option to toggle, instead of being unchangeable within IceChat.

I like having all my files in one folder, it saves me the trouble of wondering "Was the file I just downloaded a zip, or an

exe, or whatever", and if you really want to organize your downloads by file type it's not difficult to do this in Windows

itself by right-clicking in the download folder and selecting Arrange Icons By Type.

Just my two cents

I am sure 2 will be as you said.. I mean thats basic in

any program having the one folder for this and that.. I am sure its going to be a toggleable configurable like option.  Hehe,

I said toggleable. ;)!
