IceChat Panels
« on: January 02, 2009, 03:37:30 PM »
All the IceChat 7 users are well aware of the side panels in IceChat 7 that house the NickList, Server Tree, Favorite Channels and Buddy List. It was fairly quickly constructed, but served its purpose as it was a great improvement over what was in IceChat 5.

For IceChat 9, I want to take it a step further. Currently, you can only view one of the items on one side of the Panels, there was no way to split the views. I want to change this for IceChat 9, but also expand on it. Making the panels scriptable would be very ideal, where you can add your own panels, and then add scripting objects from the Dialogs inside them (buttons, textbox, etc).  This would allow some greater flexibility for scripters to add some more elements to GUI enhancement.

They still will only be able to be docked to the sides.

Any input greatly appreciated.

I think this would be cool.. Maybe you could open more than one, by sorta.. Clicking a second panel, and it would extend out into the chat window? Or make each panel smaller, with a scroll bar thingy at the side of each so you can look at them?
