Nick Alteration
« on: May 24, 2012, 01:32:56 PM »

The nick defined in a server's properties will be swapped or altered to the alt-nick (_ appended).  The server will then attempt to log in and identify (freenode) with the alt-nick.  It could use some permanence (maybe this stems from one settings configuration location for multiple clients ?).

It appears to occur without provocation at random.  It may be the result of a disconnect and reconnect within a short period of time?  Short disconnects (< 60s) appear to be a factor.

It can also occur when clicking an IRC link to add an additional Icechat channel (which instead opens a new client on my box).  This will set the first client's nick to the alt and put the alt-nick in the original field.  These might be the desired effect.

Thank you,

Yes, I have noticed this from time to time as well.

Thanks for the report, will do some tinkering with it and look for a fix.
