Address Exempt
« on: March 26, 2008, 07:30:08 PM »
Could I Add This To Exempt IRCOps From Getting Kicked By My Bot?

"If ($address == Wyldryde.org) /return"

Would This Work?

Obviously you would not be asking, if it did work, so no, it will not work.

Also, there is no /return.

Instead of giving me a blatant answer of "NO" maybe you could tell me what is wrong and how I could fix it so that It would work? As these forums possibly suggest help on problems instead of turning down the user. Just a suggestion... :-)

Why do you ask "Will this work?" then?

I answered your question.

IRCOps should be able to set a mode that prevents them from being kicked anyway (Don't know if that works if the kicker is an IRCOp too though)

Also, the mirc style of scripting has no way to exit a script, like you were trying with /return, there is no $halt either.
You have to use VB Scripting, which can use "Exit Sub" to end a subroutine.

Ill Have To Try VB then because if IRCOps get kicked, they rejoin and PM the user that kicked them, which I have a script that when anyone PMs a bot they get kicked...The reason I asked in the first place is so I could find a solution and not hit another loop

Well, and I know this has nothing to do with scripts, but IRCop's should have no business in how you run your channel(s).
They are there for working the network, not as channel operators.

You will need to do it with VB Scripting, which is always a better solution for scripting anyways.
There you can check
Code: [Select]
If Instr(Host,"Wyldryde.org") > 0 then Exit Sub
