Title: /list problem
Post by: BonE on February 25, 2006, 12:41:38 PM
When i write the command /list in this format

/list #chanelname

i get only 1 or 0 results, although i know that more chanels have the same part of the name. If i use it in another format:

/list chanelname

it starts searching for every chanel avalable on the server and that would take very long for there are milions of them.
Can any1 tell me how to search for chanels maching a part of the inputed name. I know that the program mIRC could do this fine (although it's crap everywhere else)

P.S sorry for any mistakes in my english

This is not a bug in IceChat, this is improper use of the LIST command.
Each server has its own special ways of using the LIST command.
Some allow to search for wildcards, like you are trying, others do not.
What I would suggest is, if the Network is a larger one, and it sounds like it is, is go to www.searchirc.com and just do a channel search there, it is very accurate, and a lot faster.
