Title: Background colors in nicks bleed into the rest of the line

This happens whether or not you end the color with an empty color code, and if you put additional text after you end the color then that text will be normal but everything from the > onward will pick up the background color. This is a very big problem when the background color is the same as what you have as the foreground color, as seen in the screenshot. Additionally, if you put a bold character in a nick and don't end it then the rest of the line is bold. Bolded nicks (that end the bold at the end) and nicks with only a foreground color seem to work fine.

If anyone needs a place to test this to see for themselves, I have a modified UnrealIRCd 3.2.10 server up on t.novasquirrel.com port 12512 for the time being with colored nick support, and I have a replacement charsys.c, hash.c and m_nick.c as well as diff patches here (http://t.novasquirrel.com/stupid/code/colornick.tar).

It would also be nice if this forum actually had a function for editing posts like virtually every other forum.

So this is using a hacked ircd.
It is definately not a standard.

Also, IceChat 7 is no longer under development, so you may want to test this under IceChat 9.

Also, for editing your posts, click 'modify post' link.

Colored vhosts aren't standard either yet huge networks like Rizon are using them. IRC clients need to be able to support information not in the spec just like web browsers are expected to be able to do their best to display broken or outdated HTML.
Anyway, I tested in 9 and it supports colored nicks with backgrounds just fine.

Thank you. I assumed it would work fine in v9.
