Title: youtube script?
Post by: josh260893 on July 15, 2012, 06:58:21 PM
just wondering if it would be possible to make a script so that if anyone posts a youtube link it automatically gets the name of the video? and maybe even the description

That would be quite tricky to do, since there is no built in socket support in scripting.
You would need to create an ActiveX Dll, and call that with COM to do this.

It would be like the IceAmp plugin.

Well, not quite, the IceAmp plugin just communicates between IceChat and Winamp.

This would be easier to do in IceChat 9, since the plugin framework is a LOT more flexable and has all that kind of stuff built right into it.
