Title: Icechat 9 Wishlist...
Post by: Qed on October 08, 2008, 05:14:35 PM
It may be presumptuous of me to start this but I have one wish for 9 and further versions.  Is there a way to get a mod or ver of this to work on my BlackJack 2?

Sorry, IceChat is only being developed for the Windows platform. Not for any Linux distro, or any Mobile Phones.

Not a problem.  Was just hoping in one hand.  Really been enjoying Icechat and wanted to bring it on the road with me.

Guess I will have to put it on the work laptop...  Any way of making it run from say a USB stick as a portable app?

Well, yes and no. You still have to install IceChat on the computer you are using it, but you can start IceChat with "-profile C:\SomeFolder" and it will read all its settings from that folder.

Qed, you may want to take a look at Mojopac for your USB.   I've tested it with Icechat and other software (including tradingsoftware packages) http://www.mojopac.com - I think it's still free  :-)

1. its a  A bit out there but I would like to have support for a simple dx9/OGL  Overlay (something I have always wanted in a irc client)

So I could Check/reply to msgs in a game or other full screen d3d/ogl app

it would be unique and set icechat apart from another client (tons of work tho  )

2. Support for SSL without needing a 3d party program
